Description
3D-Animated Exercise Delivery Systems (EDSs) for Digitally Enabled Musculoskeletal Care
Atlas Health’s 3D-animated, precision-scripted, and adherence-promoting Exercise Delivery System (EDS) is a cutting-edge digital-health platform that empowers a broad range of healthcare stakeholders to deliver personalized exercise programs and outcomes-accountable conservative care to their orthopedic patients.
- The EDS is a clinical, financial, and administrative game-changer for physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), rehabilitation specialists, orthopedists, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic practice administrators, orthopedic hospital administrators, and others.
- It serves up not only the “usual suspects” from physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and the rehabilitative sciences; but also brilliantly remastered exercises from less prevalent clinical constructs like mechanical diagnosis and therapy.
- The EDS supports world-class healthcare delivery in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors—and it is equally applicable in volume-based fee-for-service (FFS) markets, value-based healthcare (VBHC) markets, and volume-to-value (V2V) transition markets.
Atlas Health’s EDS incorporates best practices in patient engagement, education, empowerment, activation, and adherence.
Clinicians can share exercise protocols, engaging visuals, and easy-to-follow instructions in bricks-and-mortar, remote, and hybrid settings using computers, tablets, or smartphones.
Patients can be sent home with condition-specific exercise prescriptions.
- A plain-language intro meets patients exactly where they are—mentally, physically, and emotionally—to promote health literacy.
- Easy-to-follow 3D animations show exercises from multiple angles—with instant-replay buttons to accelerate learning.
- Perfectly timed voiceovers offer clinical guidance with empathy and encouragement—to help patients feel as capable, supported, and inspired as possible.
The EDS groundbreaking 3D-animated content was (1) conceptualized by
NASS faculty member
Ryan Tauzell; (2) seed-funded by an angel investor in Idaho; and (3) subjected to practice-based research (PBR) in physical therapy, rehabilitation, and wellness centers in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida.
The Exercise Delivery System features:
- biomechanically correct movements from Scotland-trained kinesiologist-animator Keith Krugh;
- cutting-edge healthtech programming by Jamal Mohammed; and
- clinical-quality reviews from Kevin Patrick Jones, an outcomes-accountable musculoskeletal clinician who delivers Concierge Care to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and self-insured employers (SIEs) in the Greater Naples Area of Florida.
Atlas Health’s EDS was designed to:
- boost patients’ psychometric scores on the patient activation measure (PAM) scale;
- improve clinical outcome assessment (COA) results; and
- enhance patient-reported outcomes (PRO) such as activities of daily living (ADLs), health-related quality of life (QOL), and net promoter scores (NPSs).
The EDS supports the full spectrum of MSK care—from remedies for acute injuries to early-stage ambulatory support to chronic condition management—and works across the continuum of care.
It features a wide range of evidence-based exercise protocols, including:
- Prehabilitation programs to help patients prepare for surgery or other high-cost and high-risk healthcare procedures
- Post-operative rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from surgery and regain their peace of mind, physical function, activities of daily living (ADLs), quality of life (QOL), and zest for living
- Athletic improvement programs to maximize the biopsychosocial performance of (1) amateur, Olympic, and professional athletes; (2) protective-services personnel like police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs); and (3) warriors serving the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD)—improve their flexibility, strength, speed, agility, and endurance
Atlas Health’s EDS is equipped with a variety of features that make it easy for clinicians to deliver outcomes-accountable exercise programs to their patients.
- Clinicians can create custom exercise programs based on motivational interviews
- They can target patients’ individual pain points, needs, and aspirations
- They can track patient compliance, progress, and adaptation requirements
In addition to supporting MSK care, Atlas Health’s EDS can also support personalized medicine, population health management (PHM), and human performance optimization (HPO) programs—especially those designed to radically reduce the incidence, prevalence, and cost of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
Atlas Health’s EDS can support digital-health ecosystems (DHEs), prescription digital therapeutics (PDTs), and patient-registry-based living laboratories (RWE Labs) for real-world data (RWD) collection, real-world evidence (RWE) building, and data-science-enabled discovery.
With this state-of-the-art solution, healthcare professionals (HCPs), healthcare enterprises, and other health industry stakeholders can deliver evidence-based and conservative MSK care in the most accessible, affordable, and accountable manner possible.
